Green Science

Aveda Green Science Firming Eye Creme

Aveda Green ScienceTM Firming Eye Creme is intended to moisturize, smooth fine lines and reduce the appearance of puffiness and dark circles. I've recently noticed that my soon to be 25-year old face, specificially my under eyes, do not bounce back quite as quickly as they did in college after a long weekend out. So, I hit the internet in search of a product that could potentially help me with my dark circles.

I found the Aveda Green Science line which includes four products and is intended to mosturize, replenish, fill, buff, and tighten the skin. Although I'm sure I'm not the typical demographic to be using this line, I have always had dark circles under my eyes and just recently I've noticed that before I looked tired and now I'm starting to look sick and old. (I'm sure if you asked anyone close to me they would say that it sounds worse than it really is, but don't we all tend to overembellish our body issues?) Anywhoo, never one to be against preventative measures, I've decided to give it a try.

In clinical trials, when applied two times a day, reviewers using the entire line experienced a 41% more lifted appearance. Plus, the creme is packaged in 100% post recycled PET jar. Hello, lover!

Has anyone used this before? If so, let me know. I'll be purchasing soon. (15 ml = $45)

Vicente Villarin

Deemed by Vogue as an up-and-coming fashion designer, the Vicente Villarin collection, founded by Joanne Codero Reyes, and named after Joanne's grandfather, is a collection worth admiring. Beautiful designs and concepts, the collection focuses on shifting the way fabric is worn and makes the models look like they are posing for an Anne Geddy's ad for adults rather than a fashion show. The Vicente Villarin website claims, "The VICENTE VILLARIN client is an independent woman who is sophisticated but edgy, classic yet modern. She is an individual motivated by life: loves to work, travel, enjoys dinner parties and events, and is active in her community." I would have to agree- maybe that's why I love these designs so much!

I'm loving this website, especially on slow days at work, because you could literally play for hours on it. For the picture above, I was wishing I was on a yacht off the coast of Greece. Below is date night with the boy - I'm calling it "Diamonds are Forever". Love it! Check out Polyvore to pick out your favorite ensembles.

PureOlogy

PureOlogy is the most fantastic thing to happen to me every morning. It leaves my hair feeling like I just stepped out of the salon and I've never received more compliments regarding the smell and appearance of my hair. It's fantastic!

It cools on your head when you apply the conditioner. I currently use the HydrateSystem products (purple) as well as the ShineMax product which is applied to my wet hair before drying. It helps seal the end and give my hair a shine factor that it is seriously missing. I currently do not have color-treated hair, however I still find that this product offers me much more than my previous hair cair products. Check it out - you won't be disappointed!

Southern Wedding

I'm going to a wedding this weekend for one of my best friends from college. The wedding is in sunny Dallas which I'm thrilled to visit because it's such a cute city. I started packing last night, but got distracted by a phone call, so unfortunately I have to rush home from happy hour tonight (gotta get that in) and start/finish packing.

However, I do know what my major pieces will be for the weekend and I can't wait to wear them! I have alone supported to store White House/Black Market the past three weeks, but their dresses are so cute! Here's my dress for the Bridesmaid's Luncheon which I will wear again to the Rehearsal immediately following. And I know what you're thinking - it's white. So, I'm pairing it with a black cardigan which makes it look much better, but also shows off the gold stitching.
I also have a great number (in black) for dinner that night which is hosted by all of the grandparents at a TexMex restaurant and all the young couples are going out that night to the bars downtown. So, I think it's perfect for a transition from dinner to the bars. My dress for the rehearsal dinner the next night is one of my favorite. It fits like a glove and is very flattering. And of course my dress on Sunday is a beautiful pink gown that was a little tight last weekend, so hopefully I'll fit right into it by Sunday. Keep your fingers crossed! :)

So, I'm back Tuesday and I'll give an update and provide some pics from the weekend. It's going to be just beautiful. Have a great weekend everyone!

p.s. i love you

I bought the movie p.s. i love you yesterday, after having rented it two weeks ago, and watched it again last night. I'm not sure why, but I really enjoyed this movie. Aside from some weird characters in the film, Harry Connick, Jr., I think what I liked most is the end point of the movie. Which is that you need to live today as you did when you were younger. Remember that and you'll live life to its fullest. I really liked that despite the tragedy that had to occur to Hilary Swank's character, Holly, it's what helped her remember her younger self.
Anyways, I'm feeling romantic these days, probably due to all the weddings I'm attending in the coming weeks. So, I've attached my favorite songs from the soundtrack to my page. See the songs below and rent the movie if you haven't done so already. I enjoyed it and hopefully you will too.

Karaoke Anyone?

Next weekend I'm flying to Dallas for a wedding and one night we are going to a dinner with family/friends and then all the friends of the couple are going out to a bar for drinks and singing. So, because I'm in the wedding and I've already spent a bundle on the rest of my clothes/gifts, I thought I'd do a little bargain diving. Here are some of my choices:

Charlotte Russe - top: $26.99; bottom: $34.99

What do we think? I'm kinda partial to the one on the right. I'll keep looking and post what I find.

Save the Date

I found such a cute wedding invitation store that I thought would be worth sharing. Above is my favorite of the save the dates that they have available, but go to The Papeterie Store's site and check out all of their designs.
Based in Cali, the Papeterie Store is most recently noted for creating the invitations for Jessica Alba's baby shower. Magnifique!
